A well-known and respected UK based retailer with an impressive 500 plus stores in the UK and Ireland and a direct mail catalogue and transactional website with more than 2million active customers.
Their main catalogue, a large glossy book with thousands of pages of fashion and home wear items, goes out to all their subscribers. To help encourage sales of from their catalogue throughout the year they produce a bite size version of the catalogue with a more creative display of their products highlighting seasonal items and new trends.
Their Requirements
They wanted to publish their style ideas magazine online for their subscribers to view on their website.
In addition to this they were also in need of a way of cataloguing all their past, current and future images for their records. With millions of such images it would be very hard to locate each one if they were simply stored in folders by month or style or item etc.
Our Solution
Since 2007 WeClick Media have been working with Next retail not only to create online brochures for them but also providing Data Asset Management through Image Portal to help them to organize and archive every image they have in an easy to find and user friendly system.
For their magazine we built them a completely customized interface so it could sit in their website whilst maintaining all their interface functions as well as their sites look and feel. Customers can buy online by clicking on the item(s) they would like therefore allowing the customer to act on impulse and buy something which they cannot do through a paper version and which if they were simply viewing it in a paper catalogue they may forget about by the time they have a chance to access a computer or go shopping.
Image Portal offers a very straightforward software application for managing large libraries of digital image, document, and rich media files. This effective Digital Asset Management (DAM) provides a centralized digital content repository; it speeds access to content globally and streamlines workflow of digital content to increase productivity.
